Buying Advice Kubota M5660 JD 5045 Been Covered Before But Have Some Specific Questions

I am very glad this question was asked, I am contemplating the very same tractors.
mo1 I very much appreciate your response. I was very perplexed about the listed pto hp rating for the John Deere 5xx5E Series.

I have a question about the Johns Deere 5xxxE vs the Kubota mxx60 series when it comes to overall dependability. I’m looking for a tractor that I can run for 20 years as trouble free as possible.
I know this is a loaded question, but I’d love to hear some feedback.

Well for me it looks like it's going to be the Deere 5055. I have no doubt it can do 100% of the jobs I need it to. I'm pretty sure the Kubota would have been able to do 90%+ with no problem either, the only point of question was with the clearing and I just felt better with a bit more iron for that. I think the Kubota is an excellent machine, obviously I have not owned a 5660 personally but I have had other Kubotas and their engine and driveline appears to be very reliable. I will report back on the Deere after I've run it some but I likely won't see it until October so that will take a while.

I thought that would be the way you chose to go. The 5055 seems to have enough features compared to the 5045 to make it worth while to me too. I'd probably add the SSQA and the telescoping lower arms - but that's just me. Nice warranty. And I always like to put right on the sales contract two things: who is responsible for hauling it if it needs warranty work, and under what conditions a loaner tractor is supplied. Both could range from never to always. The hauling being most important if the dealership doesn't have a mobile service truck.

Glad to hear you make that decision.

I知 not sure of implements you will by but the JD quick connect is normally fine. You can get the JD set up on most implements but usually for an up charge. I have seen grapples charge $100 for the JD setup. The JD setup is simpler and adds no loss in lift capacity but on larger machine like you are looking at it is less critical. If you are looking at getting a lot of implements or already have a lot in SSQA implements than an a SSQA might be more important.

I've used equipment with loaders with the skid steer connectors, JD Global connectors, JD 500 series quick-connect, and also old-style pin-on. Pin-on is the slowest and most finicky by far. JD quick-connect is the simplest and least finicky, hook the top hooks, roll the bucket, put the linch pins in, and you're good. It is my favorite out of the group. JD Global is essentially JD quick-connect but with a spring-loaded rod for the lower connections. It's a smidge faster than JD quick-connect but a little finicky because of the spring-loaded rod. Skid steer connectors are quick when they work but getting everything lined up and making sure the levers fully close and latch properly is not as easy as the JD quick-connect, particularly if the bucket or loader is dirty.
