So... I'm on the Kubota website happily building tractors to see what sort of prices they go for.

Can someone explain me this... I chose a tractor which I know has a Mid-PTO. Add a Mid Mounted Mower and it adds just that.

However when I add a front mounted snowblower it says I need to add a Mid-PTO Kit.

What is a Mid-PTO Kit? And what does it add to tractor that supposedly already has a Mid-PTO?

Man I feel dumb....

The PTO's that are in the snow blower section are two piece depending on the snow blower. There is a front, and the mid which bolts to the frame.

The mower only uses one shaft so the is no option!

The frame that attaches to the tractor has no PTO. Because there are QA tools that are hydraulically driven, snow lower is not.

To add a front snowblower will require the blower itself plus the quick attach subframe as well as the mid-PTO kit.The mid PTO kit is the driveshaft that goes from the tractors mid PTO output shaft, actually 2 pieces,to the snowblower unit.Cab models like our B3030HSDC will also require the hydraulic chute rotator$$ option.Good Luck!

Let me simplify. The front mount snowblower requires pto power, this is supplied by the 1000 rpm pto in the middle of the tractor, it sticks out somewhere on the trans housing. This is not a standard option, many tractors just have the rear 540 rpm pto. For most kubota models, you need the mid pto kit which adds the levers, internal components etc. needed.

Here's a picture of my sub-frame. It's for my snow blower. The frame can be used with a snow blower, a street sweeper, or a plow (there could be other attachments too). The mid PTO kit is the PTO shaft, the two green bearings, and a PTO shaft (not pictured) that connects the shaft pictured to the center PTO. The pto kit is an option because if you get the plow you wouldn't need it.

It would also be helpful if we knew what model tractor your referring too.

B3000 w/cab.

Makes sense that you would need an extra piece of PTO in order to work the front mounted snowblower.
