Just curious as to which current model Kubota is closest in size (including units that are a little smaller and a little larger) to the Kioti CK20? I'd also prefer to stay in the compact range as opposed to the sub compact variety.

thanks!

In all fairness, I don't think there is one. The CK series is very heavy and has decent capacity. The Kubota B series tractors are ultra-light machines, they are optimized for small properties and are great mowing machines, but they don't really make a good apple-to-apple comparison. There is no better suburban tractor for lawn work and modest landscape work than the light weight Kubotas, professional landscapers love them because they don't rut fresh yards and fresh sod the way heavier machines can. On the other hand, they are not the best choices for box blading, and may need to use a slightly smaller box blade than a heavier tractor. Fortunately for most small landowners, traction is usually less of an issue than most people think it is. Most small tractor tasks don't require the maximum traction possible so the lightweight Kubotas really don't suffer much real world disadvantage, while offering some nice advantages like higher PTO horsepower and a lower propensity to rut a lawn.

Really it all depends what you want to do, but I'd say the closest to a CK20 would be the similar size B7610. The B7610 has 24hp but is the same frame size as the CK20 so while not a perfect comparison, it is the closest to an apples-to-apples comparison they make.

There is a smaller Kubota that is a 21hp model (B7510), but is is also dimensionally smaller and really is not even close to an apples-to-apples comparison.

My opinion B7510 is closest.

CK20 gross hp 21
PTO hp 16.5-manual 15.5-hst
Rated at 2800 rpm
Displacement cu. In. 56.6 (927cc)
Weight (advertised) 1962 manual 1993 hst

B7510 gross hp 21
PTO hp 17-manual 16-hst
Rated at 2600 rpm
Displacement cu. in. 61.1 (1001cc)
Weight (advertised) 1323 manual 1367 hst

Same size tires on both. Position control on CK which is theoretically better according to some than KUB, I have my doubts the position control is any better than the ¼ inching with the stops spread wide apart.

B7510 and B7610 are the same size, same frame, same weight, larger engine in B7610.
I got prices for CK20 higher than Kubota for a machine that weighs more with a smaller cu. in. engine and lower PTO HP. To me it doesn’t make sense, weight is good for loader and box blading as Bob said, but if it’s weight with less PTO HP and a smaller cu. in. engine, combined with fewer people you can actually go talk to about them through first hand experience, just doesn’t make sense to me. For mowing the choice is obvious. Only thing I like better on Kioti is the loader max height, IMO Kubota loaders do not lift high enough, remedied by an aftermarket loader.

I can already hear the thunder of Kioti paws......bring it on boys, lets talk FACTS, NOT SALES HYPE.

The 7610 is sligthly longer, slightly wider and has slightly higher ground clearance than the slighly smaller 7510. They may share SOME of the same ladder frame components but they are apparently put together differently to achieve different results. I will agree that the 7510 has an engine that is similar to the CK20 in terms of horsepower, but in terms of tractor ability, the 7610 is a closer equivalent. JMO.

BTW, weight is not necessarily good for FEL work, I can site many examples of lighter tractors with greater lift capacities than heavier tractors. Proper BALANCE, via ballast, is far more important than sheer weight, for FEL work.

Thats alot of slightly, but he is right. Even sitting side by side its hard to tell the difference. The hood is longer, but the rest of the dimentions are the same within 2" or so.

Was hoping maybe I’d fire up some real debate on the subject.

I was curious a while back why some dimensions were different between the two and was able to acquire the parts manuals on both machines. I was also curious why they showed more clearance and width. Far as I can tell the reason is tires. I have looked at frames transmissions, axles etc, all the same part number. Did notice a different part number for fenders so could have the flair the B2410 has. Brochure shows length 90.6 B7510 vs. 91.7 B7610 both not including 3 point. Again that could be tire. Bob, sure you’re not looking at a BX spec, I know you’re usually very accurate.

Reason I started looking originally is because I was told the suspended deck was only made to fit the B7510 and not the B7610, that didn’t make sense to me so I wanted to know for sure.

In a hurry right now, will have closer look later to see if I can find a bigger difference.

While I’m here I’ll add......

Official brochure shows B7510 with 9.5-16 rears vs. 11.2-16 B7610.

Width B7510 42.4 vs. 46.3 B7610.

So they show the 7610 as being 3.9” wider which pretty much corresponds to the wider tire in the brochure.

BTW...my comment on CK and B7510 being the same tire size would be a Turf Special where the rears are 33x12.5-15
