We are growing Paw paws for a variety of reasons. They are native. quite low maintanence, naturally insect repellent. There is a guy who is already marketing an anti-lice shampoo with the active ingredient extracted from paw paw twigs. Six legged pests aren't a real concern. Four legged ones may be; possums, racoons, etc. We are doing it organic.

We plan to sell ripe fruit locally (high-end restaurants, small-scale, exotic ice-cream makers, farmers' market). The main downside is that they ripen qickly and don't keep well when ripe. (So you won't find paw paws grown in Mexico and being sold in Toledo.)

There was a discussion on this site under Rural Living a couple of months back on paw paws that you might be interested in. Glad for your interest.

I've had a mx for about 3 mths and think it is a great tractor. I purchased mine in Alabama for $17,300 it is 4wd I am real impressed with the 852 loader it does more work in hours then I did in days before(cleaning up old, overgrown farm).Ithink anyone that needs a slightly larger tractor to handle farm equipment without going deep in dept should look at this new winner from Kubota
