I am using Mobile one oil on everything that has an engine in it,,,lawnmowers, car, truck, touring motorcycle. The MX5000 is coming up on its first oil change. Does anyone use a good Mobile One oil for their diesel tractor? Is it safe to use synthetic? Is there a decent oil filter except the overpriced Kubota filter that is a good replacement?

Most companies that make synthetic oils say not to put them in until the break-in is complete. In my wife's car I changed out at 12,000 miles. I'd say to go to at least the second oil change on a tractor.
For the price of the filter, our local NAPA store doesn't sell for less then our price. For the security of knowing that you have a filter that was built with spec's from the manufacturer of the engine I think the price is good.
