I have a MX5100 but in the gearmodel. I have had it for about 1 1/2 years.

I stepped up from a L3400. The main reason was feeding round bales. The 3400 would barely lift a 4x5. 5x5 and 5x6 were a no go.

It is a very strong machine for its weight. I wish I had a heavier tractor, but you can still move a 5100 with a 1/2 ton pickup and 16 foot bumper pull trailer.

I purchased mine with a 7 foot Landpride cutter, FEL, fiberglass cap.

I have about 79 hours on it so far no problems.

I bought an MX5100 4WD (shuttle shift) with LA844 loader in 2008. 180 hours so far. 6' Rhino brush cutter, 6' United box blade, 6' King Kutter finish mower. Just took delivery today of a 5' Gator grapple.

The 5100 doesn't get much good press here on TBN because it's a no-frills machine I guess, but I absolutely love mine, and it's perfect for my needs. I've had no problems at all with it.

I had to replace one of the flashers after I broke it off in the woods. I'm seriously considering just removing them. I wish I had a steel cage to mount around them.

I don't much care for the parking brake. Mine won't hold worth squat, but I use the loader or rear implement for that anyway, so it's no big deal -- just an annoyance.

You'll enjoy your new tractor.

I also have the MX5100 with the LA844 loader. I didn't want all the bells and whistles. They are just something else to break. What I got was a good quality no frills tractor that should last quite a while.

I do agree that it is a bit light, especially in the rear but loaded tires really helped that issue. The flashers are in just about the worst place possible and unprotected. I am also thinking of just removing them since the tail lights on the fender also flash. I was thinking of replacing them with rear facing work lights.

I also agree that the parking brake is a weak point but a non issue if you have a FEL.

I would also like for the diff lock lever to be on the left side so it could be used in conjunction with the throttle. It is an akward process using the cruise control and diff lock.

I would like to have a cab on it. I have a line on an Amish gent that builds quality metal cabs for a very reasonable price.

Our MX 5100 4X4 with HST and LA844 FEL was delivered on Dec.17. We have about 6 hours now, and my only complaint is no warning light for parking brake applied. It is light on the rear, and for a tall guy the seat seems too low, but these are just items you need to get used to. Very well satisfied so far.
