Hi all,

Long time lurker and first time poster here. I am looking forward to contributing to this forum as well.

I am in the Virginia area and trying to obtain quotes for the MX5200HST and wanted to get some input in regards to whether or not these numbers look reasonable. I would be willing to haul this myself if purchased from another state - please let me know if any of you recommend certain contacts/locations.

Current quoted price:

Welcome aboard
Your in Virginia but that's a big place.
Winchester?
Norfolk?
Wheeler?
Figure each mile you have to drive is a $ or two.

Messicks to the north, Barlow to the south.

That's a nice tractor. I bought an MX5800HST this summer but drove 4.5 hrs. each way to get it to save $3k. Was a helluva trip pulling it through the mountains but 3K is 3K... I'm in Northern VA, what part of VA are you in?

Hey Coolbrze - thanks for the response, and I agree that this tractor is exactly what I知 looking for.

I am near Chesapeake, VA. Would you mind sharing some details on where you got the tractor from? Feel free to private message as well

Try and find at least the 3 closest dealers to you for pricing comparisons. Kubota website should have them all listed. Get a quote for exactly the same equipment from each. At worst you validate that the current pricing is competitive. At best you save $.

I bought a MX5200 this year. I put dealer reputation and location as way more important than price

I’ve bought 7 machines from my dealer and didn’t even shop

i'm shopping for a 5200 myself...
ag tires, gears, loader, grapple and 3rd function for a 4800 came to 29200... as we were leaving the lot i noticed a 5200 with the adjustable 3 pt hitch arms and asked how much? dealer said "just get the 5200. off the top of my head, only 1200 more"
so, i think it will be 30,400.

after this dealer visit, i called a friend who was a vendor for many lines of implements and told him what i wanted and where i was in the shopping process, he concurred, but strongly advised to add the hst. memory is fading, lol, but i think the hst is a 1200 increase.

south georgia pricing.

edited to add the grapple and 3rd function into list of priced items. this was initially left off.

In 1982 I bought a brand new tractor from a dealer in Spokane. You see - I live near Spokane and knew I would be needing dealer support for oil, filters, implements, etc. I did not shop anywhere else and this dealer gave me a fair price. Twenty seven years later I went back to this same dealer and bought my brand new Kubota M6040. I did not look for a better price elsewhere in WA nor in Idaho or Oregon or Montana. I got a fantastic trade in value for my original tractor and a competitive price for the Kubota.

There can be a significant difference between receiving service from the dealer where you bought the tractor VS forcing a local dealer to service your tractor bought at an alternate location. Just remember the $$$ saved on your purchase when the local dealer put you on the bottom of the service list.

I agree. Plus we are putting money in our neighbor's pockets which I like. My salesman has a family just like I do. Sure I am not going to get gouged, but if it is competitive then to me local is a win win.

marineoif0341,

I'm not certain what your rotary mower needs are, but I would consider a more heavy duty series. The 12 series is the most economical light duty one Landpride makes. I have the 26 series and very glad that I do when encountering any brush or small saplings. I'm all for saving money, but there's no substitute for metal thickness, extra bracing and larger gear boxes for longevity, even if most of your mowing is light duty.
