Tractor
kubota b8200
changed hydraulic oil. cleaned strainer on tranny, changed air and fuel filter. starts right up, rpm fine, idles fine. just if its a low ditch 1' cant climb out of it. wont pull or push dirt. when I put it into granny gear the low setting its pulls just fine. the other settings just doesn't have the power. 250 hours only. engine runs same as when I bought it. nothing out of the ordinary just no power under load in the other gears like it did before. this is not a hydrostat tranny. just an old 1980'sh b8200 with 3 gears

What does the smoke look like when you try to put it under load?

Manual tranny sounds like the clutch is slipping. Have you checked the clutch adjustment for freeplay?

Got it. your right it was the clutch. no free play. it needed 1 inch of free play and works like a champ now. so happy that I don't have to replace the clutch. thanks everyone. for the next person. the tractor should start moving about 1/4 off the clutch pedal when you lift off.

Problem again. guys any suggestion. runs great, clutch has freeplay no power unless in granny gear.

Do you have adequate fuel flow to the injector pump? You could have a clogged tank strainer limiting the fuel delivery to the pump.

I'm confused. (Not hard to do.) You said it was working after you adjusted the clutch, now it's not. Engine runs fine, so I assume the problem is not that the engine is bogging and losing power, but that the power is not getting to the ground. Sounds like the clutch is slipping to me. Does the engine RPM drop significantly when it loses power, or does the tractor just stop pulling?

I have driven stick for years. Not slipping or at least does not feel like it is slipping. if I am scraping it will not go forward unless I put it in low gear. if i am backing up to a small dirt hill to level the dirt I cant climb it unless I put it in low gear. engine is not bogging down. rpm just fine. no drop in rpm. if I drop it to the low gear it will climb up the hill no problem. only 252 hours. Im thinking the flywheel is burnt.

Clutch

The easiest way to tell with that tractor is to put the pto in gear and watch the shaft when the tractor stops moving. If the pto stops turning the clutch is done.

your right on it is the clutch. anyone have a manual where it can give me step by step to take it out. I was a mechanic for auto but not for a tractor. also I have a loader. seems simple to take off. any idea. thanks for all your help.
