Kubota L2350 & B1550
Hey Folks a while back I was looking for some discontinued parts for my Kubota B6200 and a TractorByNet member recommended a couple of bone yards for me to contact that were pretty good. Anyway I lost the website names and need a reminder from one of you folks. I think one of the yards is in Tennessee or Kentucky. Can anyone help me? Ron

Just out of curiosity what is the time frame in years around for obsolete with our Kubota's ?
Or is it ~ 15-20 years or until that part we need is out of stock?
Thanks

Hi dfran1, I don't really know but it seems to me that obsolescence depends not only on the age of the tractor but also the quantity or annual demand for a particular part, inventory availability, the ability to produce more of that part (eg condition of the tooling) and the profitability of re-running old parts (sometimes factories are running at full capacity just to produce newer parts) and the health of the sub contracting company who manufactured the part (eg are they still in business). It seems that some Kubota parts begin to be a problem around the time frame that you mentioned.

Don't think there's a hard and fast rule. Deere is legendary for having parts going 'way back and I think Kubota figured out that was the benchmark for parts support in the US pretty soon after they got into the US tractor market in the 1970's. Some items for those early tractors may still be available - I don't know - but would expect tractors from the 1990's on should be well supported by dealers.

There is a fair degree of common parts between different Kubota models and also from year to year.

JD has a lot of ancient parts, but also doesn't stock any more parts for a lot of the more recent CUTs, especially some of the Yanmar OEMed ones
