I just called my dealer and they told me a gallon was $80! A rattle can was $9! I am thinking about going to a paint store and getting it mixed I guess. Anyways has anybody else needed Kubota paint? If so what did you pay and where did you get it?

I picked up some "Kubota Orange" spray enamal from TSC. I rebuilt my "TSC special" backblade and sandblasted the whole thing. I thought the "kubota orange" paint was too light. I did some searching on this forum and read somewhere to use "Allis Chalmers Orange" I gave that a try and it was a perfect match. It may depend on the year of your tractor. Earlier year Bota's are a lighter orange. The current (2001 and newer i think) color definatly has a "reddish" tint in the paint. Whatever you do, if the spray match is on your tractor, get piece of crappy sheet metal and prep it for paint. Spray it and compare to your tractor.

Good luck

I use an after market brand that Chappell (big dealer) stocks next to the official Kubota paint which they say their service department works and matches better. I took their advice and have several cans of it. It is in my tractor shed now, but will report back later with the brand name. FYI it is $16 a spray can. I am talking about orange, but I use the Kubota blue (kinda gray) for L48 undercarriage and KX excavators. Both paints are certainly a notch above standard spray paint and are heavy and durable. Soooo handy having paint when you make a booboo or scratch.

I have used Allis Chalmers orange paint from TSC also.Matches my B7610 almost perfect. Its made by Valspar company.Only about a third the cost of genuine
Kubota. And,this stuff actually shines. The last time i used genuine Kubota spray,it was dull when it dried.Could be buffed out i suppose, but why pay more $$$ for more work............digger2

Digger is right about the "shine"
I didnt really care much about the shine on my backblade frame, but after throwing some of that $4 spray paint from TSC on it I keep looking at it sorta smiling. It does shine!!

My only objection to Kubota, or at least my main objection is that the orange paint seems to oxidize faster then any of the other colors. You really have to protect that Kubota orange from UV rays. The loader is especially susceptible and is the one componet made in the US. I suspect we are limited on just what we can put in the paint. I have had a NH that had paint sit in the sun and oxidize very little, Deere does very well, but orange just takes a beating. Kioti is probably in the same boat. While I always try to keep my tractors covered, it can't always happen. Most automotive paint shops can make you an exact match. Their paint is good, it is catalyst type paint usually, but it is good.

The name of the paint Chappells recommends is "Kimball MidWest" paint and the can is labeled as "Bright Kubota Orange". If you have ever looked into the paint options, you probably found out there are different grays, blues and whatevers for each machine and class year. I have all the oranges and grays to keep scratches at bay.

First post on TBN.
Best color match I have found locally is Ace hardware Premium Enamel. Color: "orange ace" #17016/17016. I have three different shades of orange depending on which part of the tractor or attachment... Seems to be a good happy mediun.
I found an exact match for Kubota gray. Rust-Oleum Gloss protective Enamel. Color: "Charcoal Gray" #7784.
