Hey guys;

I'm guessing most have given up on the landscape thread so if you don't know I pulled the pin and got a shiny new B7800, LA402 loader and 4672A BH. Check out the landscape thread if you want to see pictures. So far so good, she has 0.8 hours on the meter (.2 from me the rest from Kubota quality control I'm told :D) and I'm pretty impressed with it.

Now the questions start.

I'm going to weld on three hooks to the bucket. Does anyone know a close match to the Kubota paint color? The last time I bought color matched paint for my Cub it cost 16 bucks for spray can, so I'm looking for a color match from any source.

I need to set up lighting on this thing because the standard lights SUCK. I've checked all the lighting posts but wanted to float an idea here. My garage has 9 foot doors so I'll never lower the ROPS. There is a free bolt hole in the lowering mechanism of the ROPS folding mechanism. What I'm thinking is putting in a fairly long bolt in this and welding a small flat bracket to the bolt, then either using a magnet or a drill hole to mount a small light on each outer side of the ROPS. It would also be easy to remove if I should ever have to lower the ROPS. Heres a pic of the holes I'm thinking about...

The arrows point to the bolt holes. Comments???

After looking at the engine more closely I'm positive I got the 14 amp dynamo :(. Does anyone know where I can get a aftermarket alternator or a dealership with a decent price? Doesn't matter if it's in the states. Pretty sure the dealer here would charge an arm and a leg for this.

Any comments appreciated !

If the upper edge ( lip) on your FEL bucket is anything like it is on my FEL for my B3030 I cant believe it can handle "doodlie squat". Its THIN...and ( on mine) WAS NOT a "full box section". I backed mine up with a piece of angle that was 1/4" think and 2 x 3...and it makes it LOOK like a full box structure..but I welded my hooks to the HEAVY angle instead. ( Approx 1" long welds about every 5-6 inches on both edges of the angle iron)

As far as paint goes..I havent found ANYTHING that matches the Kubota as well as the Kubota paint itself ($10 a can here) and it does a good job. "I'm TOLD" that if I take a new part ( non faded) to a regular paint SHOP...they can scan it with a color gun and mix paint to match...its a LOT BETTER paint..but it aint no cheaper at all!

As far as the "dynamo" goes...if your adding anything brighter than a MATCH..you need it...lol Im looking for one myself and cant find the "correct" part number (for a B3030 model)( I have about 6 of them copied from the BB here..lol) and also with prices?? Ive read from about $165 to $250..??

The actual whole goods kit number for a B3030 is B7324 (it's the same number for the B2710/2910/7800/2630/3030). Price should be around $180.

If you look at the B3030 parts manual you will find an individual breakdown of what is in the kit and pics of how it installs. You can find the download of the parts manual HERE under Bseries.

TAISER,
Just a thought, that now your a tractor owner, you might get a little more input in the KUBOTA OWNER OPERATOR SECTION.You can clamp them lights on your rops, weld the light bracketts to a pipe, clamp the pipe, with the right sized clamps available at an automotive store, like many of us have done.I had one of the magnetic strobe lights on my rops, for plowingbeside the road,it worked its way off and smashed to peices. It always stayed on my truck, didnt like the tractor i guess:D My personal opinion is a clamp on,or if you must drill or weld on your rops.NO PROBLEM OR WORRY FOLDING DOWN THE ROPS THEY ARE GONNA STAY PUT.Clamp on can be relocated Heres a pic of my old setup before i relocated the pipe to the new roof i installed.CONGRATS ON THE TRACTOR

Taiser check around and find an auto parts store that mixes paint. I have one here in our area that will mix any paint color I want, only catch is they will only mix a minimum of one quart. Then you have to buy the hardener and they sell a small air spray kit. The hardener comes in a one gallon can (costly) but has a long shelf life. The sprayer uses a co2 cartridge and they have them available. So all I have to do is mix the proper amount of paint and hardener and then spray away.

I mounted my lights on a piece of aluminum angle stock and attached to the ROPS. It inlcudes to front lights and a blinking safety light.

The lights being up that high it isn't effected by the FEL. The lights use a mounting bracket that has a 3/8" bolt and permits the lights to move up and down and also turn 360 degrees. Nothing fancing, but it works fine for my needs. I also added two switches to the dash, one for the lights and one for the yellow blinking light.

Hi T:

If you have a Menards lumbar yard around try their paint dept. I was thinking few months ago they had most of the tractor colors on the bottom shelf for just a couple $/can. Will check next time I go there (almost a weekly happening)
