I recently purchased a used Kubota powered Lesco zero turn mower. The wiring was/is butchered up. I started mowing with it and the starter came back on and I didn't realize it and it burnt up. The starter is painted with the Kubota green/gray color over the sticker. The block has 23K3 on side of the casting. After trying and not getting a fuel filter number from the local Lesco dealership, I suspect ordering a starter through them will be difficult. What information do I need to order a starter from a Kubota dealer?

BTW I realize this is not the lawn and garden forum.

Thanks

You may wish to consider visiting a local starter/alternator shop and having your present starter repaired. They usually do decent work and most likely would be cheaper than a new starter. I'd at least give one a call. Good Luck

Many of the companies that use engines and other components that are outsourced to other companies might use other parts that are not normally used by the manufacturer. The filters is one of those areas that they do this often with filters that are slow movers and not available through normals parts dept's.

There is the possibility that they did and Kubota normally has a tag on the engine that gives it's size and model which would help for you to get the right parts.

I was able to ID the other filters from the Kubota 70000-xxxxx number on them. The fuel filter number was gone, or I couldn't see it. The local NAPA guy had NAPA replacements in stock for the Kubota parts. He said he could ID the fuel filter if I brought it in. I am not sure about the starter yet.

any chance of a hint a to what type of motor it is, gas or diesel. how many cylinders, if its a diesel, look next to where the fuel injector pump bots in to the block. there is a flat surface with the model and serial number stamped into it. eg: d722-12345 or something like that. take this number to a bota dealer and see what kubota it fits. then check the parts pic and see if the starter looks the same. if so you may want to order it but be warned if its wrong you may be stuck with it because there is usually a no return policy on electrical components.
