Kubota Power Steering Quit

Have a Kubota L3830, '06 4WD. Got a nail in the left front, so raised the tractor with the bucket to remove and fix.
Putting the tire back on, I moved the steering wheel a bit without having the engine running. Now the power steering has quit working completely. Was fine before. Can't believe I broke anything by just moving the wheel a half turn or so. No leaks, no visible problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the relief valve or the check valve on the back cover of the hand pump is leaking / not seating. The hand pump / steering controller is on the front bolster - the long shaft comes down from the steering wheel to turn it's shaft - the back cover is where the relief and check are located.

I would attempt to seat it by running the engine and turning the wheel one way and then the other. Do it fairly quick to try to build some pressure. If there is a piece of trash holding a valve open, possibly this will blast it off the valve's seat.

If this does not work, call your dealer as this is not for beginner's unless you have deep pockets.

Think you are right. I had cycled the steering wheel already, but perhaps not hard enough, and driven the tractor some before I gave up.
The next morning I went to back it out to load up for the dealer.......and the steering was working fine! Go figure.
Sounds like your analysis that the valve was sticking or unseated is correct. Now I wonder why. Filters and fluid get properly maintained and should be clean. But, Murphy is still out there alive and well.
