2018 Kubota L3901 DT.
I am a littler confused with the quick attach bucket sizing and the sizing for a grapple bucket or unit per say. I was browsing different unit's for sale and you see nothing for an actual Kubota machine but rather everything seems to come in John Deere sizing. Is there a specific table to look for when looking for this type of attachment.

Thanks for any insight, advice you can offer.

SSQA or Skid Steer Quick Attach was developed by Bobcat for use with skid steers. It became public domain here a while back, so everybody except John Deere uses it as the quick attach method on tractors now as well. JD uses a proprietary method on some of their tractors, but is slowly coming around.

So there is no such thing as a Kubota quick attach, it's just industry standard SSQA. Some Kubota loaders are quick attach regarding how the loader attaches to the tractor rather than how you attach the impliment to the loader. If there are 2 levers (1 for Kioti I hear) up front behind the bucket or other impliment its SSQA.

The other style is pin on & dimensions vary with make & model. It involves beating on pins with a sledge hammer for half an hour to swap impliments.

So anything SSQA will work providing I stay within the weight limits of my loader and Hydraulic output limits of the L3301 to run the grapple ? Thank you for the input.

AH - another from the Spokane area. So your 2018 didn't come with a FEL & bucket. Well - either Coeur d'Alene Tractor or Adam's Tractor will be able to help you with FEL, bucket and bucket grapple.

My M6040 came with FEL and 72" round back bucket. I purchased a Land Pride GSC1560 grapple and WR Long third function valving. The dealer installed the grapple and valving. The grapple is very heavy duty - 820 pounds. I use it almost exclusively to move large rocks and big chunks of my Ponderosa pine.

Give you an idea and reasons I purchased what I did. The front tires on the tractor are set at 67" outside to outside. The makes the bucket a tad wider that the tires and the grapple a tad narrower. I chose the 72" bucket - its heavy duty also - because the next size bigger was 84" and I don't need that. A full 72" bucket of gravel is more than enough weight to be playing around with out here it the pucker weeds.

The grapple - mine is what is called rock & root grapple. Its made of very thick, high carbon steel and is pretty much indestructible - if you are half way reasonable. I've had it four years and no dings, dents or bends. I choose the rock & root style because that's what I use it for. Large rocks and big chunks of pine logs.

I have VERY LITTLE brush here on the 80 - only small patches of buck brush. So I don't need the brush style grapple.

Then there is the width - some like wider grapples - some like narrower. I chose 60" because its plenty wide enough for any rock or log I'm going to handle. Besides the next size - 72" - was almost 1000 pounds.

My FEL will lift 3300 pounds with the grapple on the FEL. So...its actually lifting - 820# plus 3300# ---- 4120#. Last year I lifted a chunk of my big P. pine that the log index said would weigh 2850#. I raised it just high enough so the bottom of the grapple didn't leave drag marks - no higher. I was out on the property and didn't need any stupid accidents moving this chunk. I would have lifted it higher if I'd have been on my driveway where the ground is hard and stable.

Correct. Some SSQA impliments can be a bit heavier than CUTs like a L3301 can use (or even lift) properly. But many work well.

You'll need a 3rd function to do anything hydraulic on the SSQA. Even then most things that spin require more hydraulic flow than CUTs can provide.
