Range gear shift lever suddenly seems disengaged on Kubota L3000. Manual has no decent diagram to show what it is supposed to look like under there. Solutions to get this puppy rolling again?
If you mean by disengaged that the lever no longer shifts ranges - you are stuck in either high or low - that happened to my brother-in-laws L3000. The Kubota dealer wanted a major chunk of change to dig into it so another brother-in-law and I tore into it. Wasn't that hard to do but there were a few awkward pieces to handle so it really helped to have 2 of us - and digital pics along the way to make sure we got it back together right. An internal part that slides the gear had broke off. It did not appear to be a very robust design. The hardest thing was finding the broken part. We knew it was in there and we didn't want it catching in the power train sometime in the future. It did not drop to the lowest spot in the transmission housing which is the range gear set. It had bounced around and ended up in one of the rear wheel final drive housings. We were somewhat surprised that for how hard the tractor had been used and that piece bouncing around (it ran for over a year in high range only) the gears looked like they were just getting broke in.
