Couple of weeks ago I posted a thread raising questions on how Kubota hydraulic valves work. This thread. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...1-m7040-rear-remotes-how-they.html?highlight=

In using the tractor since then, I found I was incorrect it saying this troublesome valve would hang wide open then self center once it reach the extent of the cylinder. What was happening is the detents are SO dang hard to pull/push through it was the detents hanging it open....not the valve. I came across this thread on Kioti rear valves. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...30-removing-detent-3ph-hydraulic-control.html
It has a video in it that shows the issues, and it is the exact issue I have with this valve. Remove the detents, and I'd be good to go. The current way, you have to push so hard to get past the detent, that you will over adjust the amount you want to move the cylinder.

Here is a pic of the rear remotes. Does anyone know how I can make the same modification, as in the video, to my Kubota valve?

If you don't like detents, just remove them like in the video.

There are springs and ball bearings in the detent assembly.

Save the parts in case you or someone else might want detent later.

Use your parts manual for disassembly and assembly.

I was thinking the detents was on the valve intself that I had in the picture. So are you saying the Kubuta has a similiar setp under the seat? Don't have a parts manual for this tractor...M7040.

Go to Messicks.com and enter data for your tractor.

They will send you a PDF of the parts and about mid way through the PDF, you will see the breakdown of the valve.

The little detent balls are in that rectangular block on the bottom of the valve.

The spool does not need the detents to work

You do need the spring centering springs and the parts to contain it.

Be careful when removing the unit as the little balls and springs will fly out. Anyway, remove the little balls and little springs, and save them as you might want to return it to original latter on.

Upon my request, they downloaded the PDF to me in about 15 sec.

Open the PDF and scan down to the middle for the loader valve.

I'll add to what J_J stated that you can also view parts schematics directly @ Kubota Parts.com. By chance you aren't placing the valve in float position are you?

Gulp.....not sure I trust myself to do this. I can just see jillion of little bitty parts just scattering all over the place. Are the 'W' the balls to take out?

Well if you are not going to reuse the springs and balls, it doesn't matter.

To make the spool work the spring centering springs have to be there and the screw tight on the bottom of the spool.

From his above post he is talking about the detent on the valve and the float is the detent on the valve.

Question is, do have a need for float detent while using the loader?

It is sometimes necessary to use float to allow the bucket to follow the conture of the ground.

If you don't need float, then you don't need it.

Can you not control the lift arms all the way to float, as it takes some force to go into float.

This is a rear valve....and that has nothing to do with the loader float....right? I do use float on the loader on occasions. I use both rear remotes with a TNT setup. On the valve with the troublesome detents, if you push it full down, it will extend the cylinder all the way, then auto return to center when that happens. I don't see how it has any float to it.

Just ignore that stuff I said about float.

My brain was mixing two different post.

On the pressure release detents, check and see if the detent release is adjustable.

If so, then adjust them down so they don't detent, or remove the springs and balls.

If you adjust it wrong, the valve will not center.
