Does anyone know how to test the rectifier off a Kubota L2850 I have a workshop manual but it shows a unit that you can open up,the one on my tractor is a sealed unit, it has either been changed by a previous owner or Kubota changed the part during production. Mine is a late model towards the end of production.
Thank You

Without checking my Kubota shop manual for that tractor......

The rectifier is almost certainly a "full wave bridge" rectifier.
I would draw you the circuit, but I do not know how in email.
To test it, you can use your multimeter and see if it passes
current from one of the inputs to the other, but only one way.
Swap the leads and try both ways. Of course, you have to deduce the 2 inputs and 2 outputs from the ckt diagram. You can also hook up 12v DC to the inputs and a 12v DC bulb to the outputs and see if the bulb lights in one input polarity
condition and not the other.

BTW, I have a spare of this rectifier if you need one. DON'T
buy a new Kubota one if you do not need to.

Thanks for your response, is the rectifier that you have on your tractor a sealed electronic unit, or the old type in the metal box? If the latter sealed type does it have any writing on it?
Thank you
