Kubota Rider Arrived

My G2160 R48S mower arrived today. I am glad I purchased a rider separately from a rear finish mower. Given the landscaping and trees the shorter wheelbase and turning smaller turning diameter made mower fun again. My usual 7-9 hour mowing job just went to a little over 2 hours! The hydralic bag dump on the rear is really slick. I only had to dump it 4 times even though I never filled the bag to capacity. My 3430 HST will be arriving on Friday! I can barely wait. My wife says I have regressed into a kid again. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My wife has similar comments. Something about my just being an 'antique little boy', I think. Sounds like you have a great combination. I've been giving thought to a similar setup, only I got the big tractor first.

Just curious if you still need to do some cleanup with a walk-behind, or can you trim close enough with the rider to make that mostly unnecessary?

No additional cleanup necessary. The discharge on the mower is to the rear which means I can pull up close on either side of the mower. The turning radius is very tight also and with the HST, it is very easy to manuever. I originally wanted a 60" cut with side discharge, but the dealer talked me out of it. I experienced no clogging with the rear discharge which we all know takes valuable mowing time away in addition to having the large discharge bag on back which lessens the dumping time at the compost pile. Very glad I took his advise and went with the 48" rear discharge over a side discharge which is wider due to the discharge chute.
