I dont have a 1100 but i do have a 900. last year was one of the coldest in my area in a long time. Mine started everyday no matter how cold. I glowplugged it for probably 5 seconds, turned the key and off it went. It is housed in a garage next to our car, a gas engine and it started quicker. . .Kubota makes good stuff!
1st picture its about 0 degrees outside
2nd picture its -32 degrees about 8 in the morning and im ready to go to work. Splitter didn't start good but Bota did!  . . .John

My RTV1140 stayed outside under my deck last winter and it was below freezing some and it started great every time I turned the key. Maybe gave it two turns in a row or waited 5 seconds with glow plugs then start.

i don't have a 1100 series, but my rtv 900 has started easily everytime i go to use it in the winter with temps down as low as 15*f. (don't remember trying to start it at temps any lower but even at 15*f it started right up) only thing i notice is when it is about 25*f or lower the hydrolic pump has a slightly higher vibration noise until it gets warmed up a little bit. usually glow plug mine for 10-15 seconds when really cold.

Same experience as everyone else, 5-10 seconds of the glow plug and it starts right off.

I will note that Kubota does recommend extended warmup (at idle) before using it in cold weather (20 minutes at zero F IIRC). I mentioned that to the dealer and he just laughed and said "nobody does that". However, if it is very cold (10F) I do give it a little warmup time and take it easy for the first few minutes.

Also, Kubota's SuperUDT transmission fluid seems to be much better in cold weather.

Only thing I can say is I put a remote start relay on the RTV 1100 so that it is warmed up and it is nice and warm in the cab by the time I get to it.

I have owned the RTV900 and Now have the RTV1100. Verry good at starting and a great workhorse. But they both rusted out in three years, The floor is gone!! Don't take them out in the snow!!
