Kubota RTV900
Hello
I have a Kubota rtv900 and found that something is draining the battery after jump starting I was plowing snow, in the middle of plowing the blade wouldn't go up or down and all electric not working except for the ignition switch.
Checked all fuses and found the fuse for fuel stop solenoid was blown changed and kept blowing disconnected solenoid replaced battery, while installing battery connected positive wire and then ground as I touched the negative post on battery with ground wire there's a click and sounds that it's coming from alternator. (did I blow something when jump starting with my car?) When I went to buy new battery the guy at part store said that the alternator was overcharging the battery because the old one was expanded.
Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Start it up and use volt meter to check voltage across battery.... It should read about 14 volts DC with engine running... If it is about 14.5 volts or above yes you are over charging battery, and yes alternator or voltage regulator may be culprit.....

At rest (engine off) battery should read about 12.8 to 13.2 volts...

IF you reversed the leads jump starting you could have damaged something, BUT if you were positive to positive and negative to negative, it should not effect anything in either car or tractors electrical system..... Jump starting tractor is just same as car to car or truck to truck or car to truck or, well I will stop there....

Mine shows 12.8 not running and 14.5 running. It's a 2014.

Agree, voltages are within margins of the average meter

The battery can also start swelling from a shorted cell

Thanks for your help!
I changed the alternator it was overcharging to 15.6
Now with it on reads 14.7
I also changed the plow relay now it works.
After I changed the stop fuel celinoid and connected the wires it blew the 15a fuse again
Also the lights and anything inside cab not working
Any suggestions

Thanks

Try disconnecting negative battery cable, and putting volt meter between cable lug and battery post, if you have a short it will read battery voltage (12.8 +/-), disconnect any thing that is on fuse (circuit) that is blowing, if you remove a device and voltage indication goes away then the device is the problem if all devices removed (unpluged?) and still showing voltage you my have a wire shorted to chassis or something.......

Thanks again I will try that.
I'm puzzled why my heater, radio, or any lights not working checked slo-blow fuses 50&60 and they appear good is there a relay that control lighting?

Thanks

Interesting. Our GS850 Kubota has been back to the dealer 4 times for in warranty work. 3 of them for electrical issues.

If a rectifier goes bad (diodes) then AC current can be sent through the system burning other components like bulbs etc.
