Friday I had the Reading Kubota service truck make a visit to my place and due a complete service on my BX2200.
He changed the hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid and filter, oil and filter, greased all fittings and replaced air filter and fuel filters. I learned there are three filters on fuel system. Most people replace two of them and don't realize that there is another one aside of the engine that usually collects any condensation and if not replaced will freeze in the winter. He also pointed out that I may need the seals replaced on the front hubs if they show signs of leaking. He pointed out that the FEL cylinder showed a little fluid but not to worry about it unless I notice dripping fluid.
Overall I was very impressed with his professional technique and cleaning of such things as screen in front of radiator and the radiator itself. Checked the antifreeze which was good to -20 degrees.
Well worth the money spent to know I'm good to go for another winter season of snow removal.

Good dealers are a must. I am not aware of a third filter on the BX2200. I have a sediment bowl formed into the bottom of the fuel tank then one filter before the feed pump and one after the feed pump up near the engine block. No other filter is mentioned in my manual.

Where would the third filter be?

Thanks, Dave

I thought he mentioned it was in-line before the fuel pump to keep condensation from entering the fuel pump and freezing it closed in cold weather. :confused3:

Hey PAGUY,
I am curious how much they charged you for service if you don't mind me asking. My B is due to take a ride to the dealership for the 300 hour service.

Thanks!

ror105 - First let me say that the dealership said the maintenance manual may say 300 hrs you can wait till 400 hrs.

The cost for changing all fluids and greasing all areas plus cleaning radiator of debris and wipe down was $640.

The price included labor and parts plus on site service at my home. I felt I got my monies worth as the technician pointed out features to keep my eye on for the future.

I have own my Kubota for 10 yrs +/- . I changed oil and greased it myself and changed fuel filters.

I really appreciate the reply PAGUY. They quoted me 350 to 400 to come get it and do the work. A friend of mine that works at a shop told me I was crazy and could save a LOT of money doing it myself. I think I have reached the age or the point in life that I don't feel like messing with some things. I think this is one of them I'm just going to bite the bullet on.

Thanks again!

ror105 - I have developed osteoarthritis in both my left hip and knee so I am very limited in what I can do anymore.

I consider it money well spent because the technician had over 10 yrs experience and you could tell the way he did the job.

The fact that the cube van he came in had everything on it and he took away all old fluids after draining them with no spillage impressed me.

Trust me you are doing the right thing. Money isn't everything the older you get. Sometimes it is money well spent.
