Kubota snowblower chute rotates only one way??

Hello all,

I just got my tractor(Grand L4330) back from my Kubota dealer yesterday. I had them install a 72 inch snowblower on it (l2185 I believe). I fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, had the opportunity to try it out yesterday. The blower works great, and throws some serious snow. The problem however, is that the chute will only rotate one direction. This setup uses the loader stick for its adjustments. Up and down on the loader stick raises and lowers the blower, while right and left are supposed to turn the chute the corresponding direction. The chute turns great in one direction, but will not turn in the other. Here's the realy strange thing for me. If I switch the hydraulic hoses, the chute will turn the other way perfectly. What is going on here?? Do I have something wrong with the valve?? A blockage?? I just took the loader off before sending it to the dealer and it was working fine. I did have the 100 hour service done at the same time. I haven't called the dealer yet as I thought I would ask the knowledgeable people here first. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the reply. I did not find your other thread when I did a search. I went out to the garage last night and fired the tractor up to prove your point. As you said, if I push hard to the right the chute will rotate that way. I guess I was trying to baby it to much. Anyway, thatnks for your help.

Reviving an old thread as I just "spent" (ie wasted) an entire evening trying to figure out why new Kubota L4484 snowblower chute would only rotate to the left. Chute angles up and down as-expected to hydraulics must be OK. Swapped lines and then it only rotated right (so hydraulic motor must be OK), swapped functions, and removed the gear so it was only the motor shaft (ie no resistance). Finally Googled and found this and a few other threads. Pushed a little harder to the right on the loader function lever and broke past the detent (it didn't take much force...just a bit more). Now it works as-expected.

Grateful to the forum! Hopefully reviving this thread with a few updated search terms will help someone else.

Welcome and glad you figured it out.

Unfortunatally some loaders (not just kubota) dont have the option to push past a detent. They are regen only. Luckily your valve works for your application
