Im thinking about buying a 64 inch rear mount snowblower for my b 7800 kubota. We have a cabin in upstate ny and get about 400 inches of snow a year. With a 500ft. driveway do ya think it would handle it. thanks Bill

I have a B7800 with a JRW 60" rear snow blower and it is impressive. I love it. I clear 1.5 miles of dirt road with 300 feet of elevation change and it handles it with ease. I usually plow the road first with my F350 with 9' plow then blow the banks back as the weather lets up. I have had the blower for 5 years and it has done very well. With the bucket on the front I have only gotten it stuck once. No chains and turf tires and it is amazing.

Hi JB,

I don't have a Kubota but a Kioti CK20 with a 60" meteor blower on the rear. I know your Kubota will handle that 400" of snow just fine. It is of course easier if you can keep it mopped up on a regular basis but not an absolute.

It happened again last weekend. My neighbor with his nice Chevrolet 1/2 ton 4 x 4 and snowplow just couldn't bust through the heavy snowbank left by the County Road Commission road crews and their gigantic plow. He just could not budge that much snow with that truck and plow. So they came and got me. There was no stopping that blower once it got a piece of the 4' snowbank and I got it out of there for him pronto. That bank had been there all Winter before I made it move.

When the plowing gets tough, the blowers get the job done first.

There is not too much difference between your 7800 and my B3030HSDC. I get about 250" a year and my driveway is 400+ feet long and as someone mentioned, yours will do the job quite nicely. But do you want it to be a fun job, or a pain?

I wouldn't have a rear snowblower however. I am just not fond of looking over my shoulder for long periods of time. If you get a little snow occasionally, a rear blower would be OK, but for serious snowblowing it wouldn't be something that I would consider. I also wouldn't consider snowblowing without a cab, but obviously many tolerate rear blowers and no cab.

That should be a good match for your tractor. It's nice to have the FEL still available for use, which it is with a rear blower. Unless you have back/neck/disc issues, a rear blower is no big deal to use, cheaper to buy and quick to change out for another attachment. I just used mine to clear a long winding path around the perimeter of my field, a couple thousand feet, works well.

The rear blower works well and you get used to the position. We get 150 inches a year and my road is a mile long so I get to spend a fair amount of time going backwards. I couldn't do without the bucket (FEL) so between the two I can keep the snow banks way back. If you don't have a snow bank issue then not having the FEL isn't that important because the blower can do some good work on them as long as the snow has not iced up and gotten chunky. Good Luck.
