Kubota steering shudder/stutter

Have others experienced a shudder in their Kubota power steering when turning? I have a 3 year old L5460 without a loader that’s used mostly for mowing at 2400 RPM’s. RPM’s don’t seem to be a factor nor is working load on the engine.

Sounds like an orbital pump issue.

Might also look at your steering cylinder. My backhoe started to fight back when steering it and turned out the seals were leaking internally. That meant it wasn't visible if you looked at it but, the pressure got negated inside the cylinder and fought back with you, causing it to 'chatter' at times. Having had no leak, I would never thought of this. I described issue to my brother in law, he said that was first place he'd look and in my case, turned out he was right.

I have a similar shudder/ vibration on my m7060 with only 270 hrs. It is most noticeable at higher engine rpm. Dealer could not figure out cause and got Kubota involved. They said it’s a known issue on the m7060 and require the “steering control “ replacement. Supposedly there are none in the USA so part has to come from Japan. Not sure if this would be applicable to your model

That under the dash gerotor pump isn't a cheap date by a long shot. I priced one and it was about 800 bucks. Kubota cautions (in the WSM) about attempting to take one apart and reassemble it. They state the tolerances inside can become an issue if the area it's taken apart in isn't squeaky clean and I'm not even sure you can get a rebuild kit. I think I'sd ignore the shudder until it completely fails. Just my 2 cents. Replacement OEM parts are very hard to get today. I need to replace my main fuse panel on my OS M9. The panel is cracked and the ATC fuses don't like to seat properly. Called my dealer yesterday to order one and turns out there are only 2 available stateside right now, one in KC (I presume at Colemans) and one in Alaska of all places. My dealer is getting the one in KC, should be in, in a week. Another 60 bucks toward the tractor.
