So how good is it REALLY? From the price it SHOULD BE liquid gold.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Is there anything READILY AVAILABLE thats better?...as good..??? The price sounds to me like its a rip-off...but??

Since in my B3030 th rear axle is ALSO lubed with it..if a person chooses a different product..what shoud they use for FRONT axle lube?? Same as the tranny / rear axle..or ?

SUDT is synthetic, and it is very good stuff. In my opinion, it is most worthwhile in high-stress situations like a very cold or very hot climate. If you search the past threads you will find a lot of people who could sense a positive difference when using SUDT, but I can't tell much difference in my tractors (I live in a mild climate) so last time I switched back to regular hydraulic fluid. If you do want to try synthetic, Amsoil makes a synthetic tractor hydraulic fluid that may be cheaper than SUDT.

If your Bota is a manual gear tractor, you can use UDT.

If your Bota is a HST or GST then Kubota specifically specifies the use of their multigrade SUDT.

I'm using Amsoil's Synthetic 5W-30 multigrade in our L-3130 GST and L-39 GST now since SUDT was more expensive. Both products are outstanding, especially compared to the single weight UDT type hydraulic fluids. Other similiar comparable products to Kubota's SUDT and Amsoil's 5W-30 Synthetic Hydraulic Fluids are Chevron's Synthetic Multigrade Hydraulic fluid and Petro Canada's Synthetic Multigrade hydraulic fluid.

Both my Kubota OEM Manuals state specifically, " Fill with the new KUBOTA SUPER UDT fluid up to the upper notch on the dipstick every 400 hours."

Both my Kubota OEM Manuals also further state specifically, "To insure proper operation of the hydraulic system and complete lubrication of the transmission, it is important that a multi-grade hydraulic fluid be used in this system. We recommend the use of KUBOTA SUPER UDT fluid for optimum protection and performance."

If you find it at Wal-Mart, then indeed it would truly be a rip-off!

I had been getting my Kubota SUDT from Ronnie @ TractorSmart but transportation and shipping charges really went though the roof this past year, so he quit dealing with it except in special circumstances.

The Amsoil Synthetic 5W-30 multigrade hydraulic fluid has almost identical specs to match SUDT, especially in the important kinematic viscosity parameter, so I got a barrel of it instead seeing as how I use about 40-50 gallons of hydraulic oil per year. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In my owners manual it just says that "Kubota UDT ...OR..Kubota SUPER UDT" is recommended and they are "Kubota's original transmission hydraulic fluid". Same sort of thing for the front axle case.

UDT is a decent (???) price in comparison to other brands of HYD oil..etc....its just that the SUPER stuff..??..WOW!!

That is amazing that your new Kubota 3030 manual states that, since all three of my Kubota manuals (L-3130 GST, L-39 GST, and ZD-21-Two HSTs) all specify Super UDT. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Do you have a manual transmission?

An HST?

In that case you'd be making a serious mistake by trying to run a straight cut UDT type hydraulic fluid in your rig trying to save money (even if you got the cheap hydro fluid at Wal-Mart).

??? Beats me. Ive heard that Kubota ships them with UDT...and that they have SUDT in them? ALL I know is that when I got mine ..it was low..( They blew a line to the FEL and some weinie there forgot to fill it back up)..so the next day the mobile service guy came..and put 2 1/2 gallons of the regular UDT in it..????

Im not looking for CHEAP fluid...Im just seeking something thats not as $$$ as the SUPER UDT and is "readily available". I will never be addings "tons" of hours on my rig..so change dont bother me any..and if I HAVE TO GO to the $$$$ SUDT..I will..

Just seeking the same sort of fluid at less cost is all.

Just got off the phone with the place where I got my 3030. They said they dont even STOCK the Super..because people with BIG machinery dont want the extra costs ...but they will order the Super in for me at $77 for 5 gal! The regular UDT was $56 for 5 gal.

$77 dont seem "all that bad" ( I was going by previous postings that implied it was liquid gold or ??)

Swapping SUper UDT at 300 hr intervals..I'll spend that much $$ in OIL for oil changes..
