Gentlemen I have a a dilemma I started to service my rck60-24 mmm today and when i removed the blade i noticed the 5 out of the 6 washers were broken.see pic. I also noticed these washers have 9 notches or slits in them ( almost looks like kubota made these intentionally for breakage) the specs are od = 72 mm id = 30mm thick = 3 mm. and the cost is $8.97 cad each x 6 = too much for 6 washers. i was wondering if i could get away with using a hardened washer that is same inner id but 4 mm thick and 45 mm outer id. with out the slits.

The washer are not standard flat washers. They are cupped so that they will tension the bolt so that it stays tight.

The trade name for these washers are "belleville washers". They are commonly used in place of regular split ring lock washers because they exert even tension on the bolt head once tightened. You can even stack them to increase the preload on the bolt.

Google the name, you can purchase them just about anywhere at a good hardware store.
