I recently picked up a 42" Kubota tiller. Nice shape, paint not even worn off the tines.
It came off a tractor that was setup for cat 0. I changed out the hitch pins so I could use the cat 1 hitch on my JD 2305 (TSC was out of the cat 0 to 1 bushings that day). THe only problem remaining is that the PTO shaft that it came with is too short for my machine (and it doesn't have a guard). I would prefer to get a new PTO, but herein lies the rub; it's a shear pin setup and the shaft on the tiller is only 1". All I have been able to find is 1 3/8. I would also like to have a slip clutch setup (I'm a little parenoid since the dealer's rental tiller destroyed my gearbox
).
ANy advice on the best course of action here? Should I just by the 1 3/8 shaft and get a machine shop to make me a bushing, or can I source a shaft that will fit the 1" tiller shaft? Is there an option I've completely missed?
Thanks for any advice.
