Hi,

Posted on this one before, but time moves on. Need to retreat to the barn some days, so this build project is back at the forefront for winter. I am still stuck with a V2203 that I want to convert to a static pallet mounted engine with 7:1 gearbox to drive a log processor in place of a tractor. I have drawn a blank on the missing link of bellhouse, and gearbox. Best I can think of is buy the Kubota XK121 hydraulic bellhouse, and hope to drill holes in the pump end to take a box. Support, and alignment, will be a big financial risk. Anyone been here, or have some thoughts.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Why not use hydraulic power to drive your log processor? You can
direct-couple or belt-drive a hyd pump off the engine crank. You can
even use multiple pumps for simultaneous hyd work output. If you
size your pumps properly, you will need no gearbox.

You would still have to build a hyd pump support frame and bolt it
to the back of the engine. No need to buy any OEM bellhousing.

Thanks for that. The log processor is hybrid. Part belt for blade, part hydraulic for conveyors and splitting. Reworking all that would be worse than the palletised engine approach. There is some good news. I have found a bowex flange and coupling, and am pretty sure the Comer A4A box will work. There is also a Chinese lookalike, but freight makes it un-economical.
