I just purchased a Kubota Z620 from Japan to install in a Garden tractor. The engine appears to be in good condition and I'm setting it up for a test run. One odd thing about this engine is that it has NO thermostat or water pump. Just the upper radiator hose connection. I know the old John Deere tractors used thermal syphon cooling, is it possible this engine does too? Where you would expect the water pump to be is where the dynamo (alternator) is located. Also the hose fittings are much larger than the ones on my Z430's. Your thoughts would be appreciated as information is very limited.
Thanks,
Chris

The D750 on my B7100 was this way too. It uses thermal siphon flow.

jas67 thanks for taking the time to reply. I'ts nice to know I could be on the right track anyway. Got it running this afternoon and it sounds great. Now I have to get it mounted in the garden tractor.
Thanks again,
Chris

I have a very nice Bolens GT2000. I has power steering, cruise contol, dual Hydraulics, and shaft driven attachments. I sold the 20hp Kohler for more than I paid for the diesel engine. Should make a nice garden tractor when completed. Cheap to operate also. I plan on taking pictures when I get started.

It's funny that you would mention that Thread. He actually contacted me about the loader and his problem before he started the thread. I told him he was in over my head so he went on line and found the solution. I think I replied to his post on the first page. I can do the basic hydraulics thing but I'm not very good at trouble shooting through the E-mail. I would have caused him more problems I'm affraid.:confused2:
