I have long wanted a diesel ZTR. I received a decent offer for my Bota ZG 23, sold it and started shopping. I looked at ALL the brands. I was really impressed with the new diesel that Bota has out that is on the original gas frame. And at a price that is lots less than those with the beefed up frames. I have always thought the ZG 23 had a good frame. Anyway, I brought home the ZD 221 and the BAD BOY Lightning Z, 60" with the 26 HP liquid cooled Kawasaki. The wife and I started testing. I did not bias her by making any comments about either machine. We both favored the Bota ZD 221. She mostly because the Bad Boy sits alot higher, no ROPS, seat belt and no brake pedal on the floor. I favored the Bota due to the Diesel, the outstanding service and history I have had with my other Bota diesels. The Bad Boy really lives up to its name. The Bad Boy diesel would have cost me some $1.5K more than the ZD 221.
