kubota zd 321 21hp diesel

Is the ZD 321 Kubota zero turn mower with the 21hp 3 cylinder diesel motor and 54" deck an adequate pairing of motor and deck width combination. I have 4 1/2 acres of yard that i have been mowing with a 50" Cub Cadet purchased from Lowes with no problem. Just looking to upgrade to a commercial mower for the long haul........

Yes it is. The prior model, ZD21 run a 60" deck with 21Hp. Given your acerage, I'd look at a ZD326S. Its only marginly more expensive and will help you get done quicker.

I have a ZD21 with the 60" Pro deck and I have had no problems and the engine handles it fine. I am mostly on flat ground though, if you have lots of hilly terrain I would recommend you look at the 326 also. Good luck

There is a bit more weight on the newer model ZD's and they did turn up the speed a bit so the extra horsepower of the 326 fit's the 60" deck a little better for some operators.

I mow five acres with the previous model, the ZD 21. Even with long, wet grass, it has never had a problem. Of course it is all level. Great mower.
