Kubota ZD25 with Mulching Deck Opinions

I have a new to me ZD25 zero turn that the previous owner had installed the mulching kit onto it. Here is my opinion: The cut is good and I rarely see clumping but I mow once or twice a week. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about clippings being shot onto my driveway or mulched areas. What I don't like is that it does not seem to lift up the grass before cutting. I am left with some areas of folded over grass that was not cut. The mulching blades have a small tail on them making them low lift. The machine itself is great, plenty of power, fast and easy to steer.

Could anyone with a Kubota zero turn (ZD25) share their experiences with their deck, mulching or not? I'm considering removing the mulching kit and installing the regular blades to see if the cut is better.

By the way, I keep my deck very clean and the blades sharp, thanks.

You need Gator blades

Would that be with or without the mulching baffles?

Only a few of the Kubota decks have the Gator blades available as they have had difficulty maintaining the quality of cut from the factory blades. The gator blades will wear far faster then the standard Kubota blades. Can't help you to much as you didn't say what width deck you have.

I have the 60" fabricated deck. I'm not too concerned with the blade wear as I only do my lawn. If the cut is better, that is more important.

i have the Gator blades without any mulching baffles. I'm very satisfied with the cut and the clippings left behind.
I do have a ZD323 with a 60" fabricated deck.
