I'm planning to replace my Kubota KX 121 2009 by :

a) Kubota KX 057 2020 450 hours like new.
b) Takeuchi TB 250-2 2020 new.

Same price, Kubota 18 month warranty left, same equipement
etc.

What do you think? Thanks

Same price? Tak all the way. Tak new warranty is 2 yr/2,000 hr. They are every bit as good or better. What is your perception of the Tak dealer?

I’ve never personally ran a Takeuchi but my buddy demoed one a couple weeks ago and said the controls were laggy like electric control. I have ran a Takeuchi skid steer and felt it was inferior to a Kubota. The controls on it weren’t as sensitive as the Kubota and it had a huge crossmember that impairs visibility.

I just bought a Kubota 40. I’d have rather had a 57 but the cost difference was more than I could swing. IMG_9436.JPG

Should have sold off some of your OSB to cover the difference!

I bought all that when it just started going up. I think I have $16 a sheet in it and I think there’s 12 bundles. I was hoping to have a 5000 square foot build started already but it’s been held up for permanent issues. It’s finally approved now and the footer is going in next week. Lumber is still higher than what I have in that. I was going to try to buy some more if it came down any over the winter. But my customer paid for that. I don’t have any money in that stack.

I got a 40. FYI you have wires read for lights under those grommets above rear window. Just take the speakers out, easy access. Hot and ground for each. The left turns on with the front light and the other turns on with the beacon switch. 2 mounting bolts for each also.

I’m probably going to put a light bar on the front but rear excavator lights aren’t much of an assist IMO but thanks for the tip. I have some 45 degree side lights on my M59 that proved pretty useful.

I have a TB260 i got to replace a Kubota 161-3. I demoed the 260 against the 057 and I liked the Tak more than the Kubota. The cab has more room, it operates faster, and it seems to lift more than the Kubota. The biggest issue with the Taks I see is dealer support, if you have a good dealer I wouldn't hesitate. Keep this in mind too, Kubota is releasing new -5 series of excavators soon, the -4 series has been around awhile with no real updates.
