OK Riddle me this.....I started tractor up, raised loader up and was uncurling pallet forks at the same time, then I could not move the lever back to neutrel it just kept uncurling the forks. The raise / lower works fine. I stopped engine. lowered loader and shook lever side to side. If I pull hard enough it will curl but not uncurl. I pulled rubber boot off lever to see, nothing is hung up that I can see. Could be below? I sure wished I had a service manual.
Any ideas? OH my baby is in a heated shed to.

At the risk of double-posting, you might consider asking your question in the hydraulics forum. There are some real experts over there.

Maybe you have a stuck spool in your FEL valve, but you need help from someone smarter than me.

One way to help isolate the problem is to swap the raise/lower connections with the dump/curl connections at the FEL valve. If the problem moves to the raise/lower circuit, you at least know it's in the valve and not somewhere else.

It is a known problem with some of these valves that water gets in to the cap covering the back side of the spool and rusts the parts up or freezes in cold weather. Try taking the cap off the spool that is stuck and see if it is rusted that may be the problem. People have greased or oiled them up good once working and drilled a hole at the bottom of the cap to let the water drain out.

I agree on the freezing. Although DDT stated his tractor was in a heated shed my M4900 loader control was frozen the other day when the temperature was in the teen's. It works just fine now since temp. is above freezing.

I called dealer, I took linkage off block and the lever moves easy. So I took it in, they will check it over Monday.

The update from the dealer: Dana,
We found load check valve problem. The head of the poppet had broken off of stem and gotten in spool. I ordered a new valve. The new valve is shipping out of the Ohio warehouse. I expect it to be in Thursday.

No Rust, but dont suprise me with only 40 hours on her and not 2 months old.

I had a similar problem with valve on my b2710 when it was almost new. I wasn't home when they came and fixed it, but some little piece was broken that they had to replace. Symptoms were similar to yours.

I went to pickup tractor Fri. They found a very small part with a flat top and a short stem that broke (forgot what they called it) any way it broke and fell into the spool valve so they replaced the loader valve. I was told this was a rare fluke, never seen that before. All is well and good now.
