I bought a used 6' front blade for my B7510 last year figuring I was going to use it for clearing snow. It came with the proper mounts and hydraulic lift cylinder with hoses. It looked like a direct swap for the FEL and is in great shape. I never got to install on the tractor.

I traded the B7510 for a L3800 and was thinking about converting it to use on the FEL arms with a SSQA mount. I also have a used 7' snow plow that I could mount to the FEL.

My question is should I spend the time trying to convert the 6' blade to a direct front mount on the tractor or should I stick with just welding the SSQA mount to the plow frame.

The 6' blade looks very heavy duty. Almost like it was designed to level dirt. It doesn't have cylinder for angling just lift.

Your L3800 should be able to handle the 7 footer.Rather than modify the 6ft why not sell it.I have had both and much prefer the FEL mounted plow.

My L2800 handles 7 1/2 plow very well attch to bucket, you may want to add some rear weight if haven't already.

I have an L3400 with a frame mount and its very handy. Started with a smaller plow on a b7510. I can maneuver in tighter spaces very well with it . And swapping between loader and plow is easy. The 7 footer will push the front end around even with 2 link v-bar chains on the kubota thought the r-4's dont give you alot of snow traction even with the rears loaded. I was contemplating rear tire chains but I do have a much larger tractor with all 4 corners chained and I think that is the direction I'm going in with a loader mounted plow. (83 hp and 11k vs 35 hp and 3.5k) Still going to put the subframe on the L for the smaller stuff though.

ASGAR has a good thread on building the sub-frame and it was very straight forward if you have a welder and a way to cut the steel. Most metal shops will cut the steel to size when you buy it though.

Thank you. I'll try to list it on CL to see if someone could use it. If I don't sell it before the winter I'll fab the frame mount. I think I'll stay with my original plan to use the 7 foot plow as a snow pusher. I have rear chains for the tractor. Should I consider buying the front ones too?

if your just going to push in straight lines, brake steering should work ok. If you have any hills, Id very def suggest the front chains to keep the tractor pointed in the right direction. For all the more expensive they are, its well worth the insurance. I'd also look at adding in the power angle with hydraulics at some point. Pushing in a straight line sounds like a good idea until you have stuff trailing off both sides of the blade trying to clean things up.

I'm very happy with the L pushing my 7 foot blade with the subframe mounting, It just doesn't make much sense to me to use an open station tractor when I have one that has a cab and heat!
