Over on the Kubota buying/pricing forum, the L3300 gst information thread had some great info that applies to other models. I thought it would be neat to keep that conversation going over here, as I know it helped me a lot. The top link bracket discussion has taken place before, but the other stuff seems new.
My first question, as I am looking (still) at a used L2900 in the 57xxx serial range, is should I go ahead and have the front drive shaft seal spacer kit installed while the tractor is still at the dealer? I'm leaning in this direction, rather than wait for trouble. And can a knucklehead /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif tell without dissassembly if the seal kit has been installed? I'm thinking not.
The tractor is on consignment at a different dealer than sold it, and the owners are having trouble locating records, as they are packing to move. Can the serial number be fed into some sort of central record database and find the service history? Do you mechanics out there know if this is done? I thought I read that on one of the green guys just had this done, and I know Ford trucks can be traced that way.
