Hi, I'm a Kubota forum poster but own a couple Deere mowers. My primary mower is the L100 w/ replaced engine, a briggs with a oil pump. so I guess it's a 110 or something. Anyways it will start if you jump the solenoid so I replaced the solenoid w a dealer replacement one. The new one has the battery and starter lugs top to bottom. the old one had them side to side. I installed it and the tractor still does the same thing. Is there a polarity on these battery cables or the smaller solenoid wires? Tractor runs fine once you jump the solenoid. Other weird thing is the reverse mow enable button has to be held in to keep the engine from cutting out when backing up. This just started after the solenoid swap. I also took the key switch out and popped it apart, cleaned the contacts and put it back together. It will shut down if you turn the key off and won't start when jumping solenoid w key off so I think key switch is good. Any thoughts?
Second machine is a project Lt133. Given to me by a buddy for parts.
It's a good machine with a bad first owner. Deck is about 95% new and tractor is in good shape overall. It sat for 2 or 3 years.
I changed oil and plug and cleaned it up some.
I replaced the starter as the last owner cooked it. It will crank the engine when the solenoid is jumped but no fire. The harness to the voltage regulator/rectifier is burnt on one of the end wires, the last owner again. I removed all the old fuel and last night and will check for spark and fuel pumping when cranked today. This machine has a series of relays behind the engine, are they all the same and what are the pin test for them w/ a ohm meter? I'm thinking the voltage pack is bad and caused the guy to crank it until he cooked the starter and burned up the wires.
Thoughts?
Probably should have done two post but if replying start w L100 or Lt133 on your replies. Thanks
Thanks
