L1501 ROPS

Anyone fitted a ROPS to an L1501?

Easy/Hard etc.??

Things to watch for ??

There are at least 2 styles of ROPS used on this model. They both attach much the same. A U shaped shoe fits over the 95 mm square axles from the rear of the tractor. Diconnect the linkages from the lift arm to get better access. A long bolt clamps the U shaped part together in front of the axles . Another 2 bolts connect the frame to the 2 holes just above the top link bracket. These bolt holes should be cleaned out with a tap before the bolts are fitted. Just to get rid of dirt/rust etc. Installation takes 15-20 min.

Some frames on the market are not made very accuratly and have been difficult to install. The U shoes are too close togehter or they moved in the jig and are not welded square. The holes at the top often dont line up too well. Otherwise its usually no real problem.

Thanks very much. I have a fair idea now. Would like to see a photo if you have one.

Only thing is, I don't have any holes above my top link bracket !

There are holes below it. Maybe my bracket is up too high? My attachments would indicate that it is in the right spot.

Are these holes on the rear face of the "block" just as the top link bracket holes would be or am I looking in the wrong spot.

Will send a pic of mine soon.

Had another look at the back of an L1501. It has 2 holes drilled and tapped above the top link bracket. These holes are vacant unless a ROPS is fitted.

It looks like the top bracket may be able to be positioned higher by using these holes, which may then leave 2 vacant holes below the bracket.If this is the case, the bracket should move down to accept the ROPS mounting bracket above the top link bracket.
