hey Y'all, I'm back - a few years ago I got some great help from this forum for my tractor (see thread called "L-225 Clanging noise in transmission") and now I've got a new issue.
After a big heavy project were I had to move a lot of dirt, and really work the tractor hard, I can't get the tractor into reverse any more. All other gears are fine.
What happens is that I put it into reverse (but cannot really 'feel' it). When I let the clutch out, it starts to move in reverse, but then stops and there's a terrible grinding noise.
I'm OK if a tranny rebuild is needed, but I'm wondering if this can be solved by going in the top, and not having to split the rig? Could this be something with the forks / rails?
Best thanks for any advice! BTW, I've got the IT Shop manual for this and read through the section on the transmission.
