Being new to tractors, hobby farming etc, I have a question. I purchased a Kubota L245DT with front end loader, this tractor has sat in a barn for approx 20 years. I changed all the fluids and have really enjoyed the first couple of hours playing with it. I find the bucket and boom ( hope that is what its called) controls very slow. So my question is ,Did I miss a filter or screen somewhere for the hydraulics? I do not see anything outside (visible) does anyone have a similar tractor and can make suggestions. BTW, tractor has 1300 hours on it ( according to guage ) I tend to believe it looking at the overall condition of tractor. Regardless of hours, I now own it and will do what it needs to keep it in good shape. So any input ,comments or questions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

The L245 internal hydraulics are not speedy but should not be really slow either. There is a strainer INSIDE the transmission where the pump's feed pipe connects (low on the side). Any auxiliary hydraulics on this tractor? If so, post some pics showing how they are connected - sometimes flow gets divided or blocked if hoses get swapped.

What RPM is the engine running when you use the loader or boom? My hydraulics are very slow at low engine RPMs as the pump can't move much volume/time at that speed. It gets VERY responsive at high RPM.

Thanks Daver1963, I found the service manual and it seems as if my tractor is a 1976 model year. Perfect. That sure was easy. I will check check for that strainer/screen inside the transmission also. I never revved up the engine very much when using the bucket, I will check the rpms and see if the response changes with the increased rpm. Thanks to everyone that took the time to answer me. Once I have the bucket rebuilt I will try and post some pics. (Bucket was basically bent on the bottom and cutting edge was broke. Thanks again.
