Tractor
99 Kubota L2500
Hello all. First off let me say I really enjoy this site and the amount of excellent info I have gathered over the past week or so by reading posts. I thought it was about time for me to join in and further my education of tractors.

I am looking for some honest opinions whether good or bad about the tractor for which I am buying. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This will be my first tractor and I have a lot to learn! I feel I have made a good choice, but wanted other input from you guys as well... So here goes...

I am buying a 1 owner Kubota L2500 4x4, manual shift, 25HP, 380hrs, FEL is a Great Bend 240, and a brand new Razor brand 5' shredder for $10500. The entire tractor from front to back is very clean and looks hardly used at all except for some normal scratches.

I will be using this tractor on my recently purchased 23 acres! I will mow all of it at least once to clear up 1.5yrs of growth as well as move around some dirt and such to shape up the property and clear off a few piles of trash/clearing debris. The property has some woods areas totalling about 2 acres and a pond about 40ft across both ways. In due time I plan on splitting it up some and making about 5 acres for a homesite and the rest for pasture for cows and such.

Any opinions or thoughts are welcome!

And thanks so much for any input!

Sorry but you won't get a lot of L2500 responses. Sort fo a plain no frills tractor as they say. But I just got one and am very happy. Can't say a lot about your deal because it was way off my radar screen(IE my price range /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif). But the one I just picked up is a 1999, 1200 hours, turf tires, 5' Woods finish mower with extra parts and a 4' TSC bush hog. i paid 5k to a local seller. Key was the finish mower which I had to have or was going to have to buy separate. I also wanted the turf tires although I'm rounding up some ags. A loader would have been nice but where I use the tractor I'm surrounded by loaders I can go get if I need.

Enjoy your new toy!.

Mike

I bought mine about two three years ago. It came with a woods 5' hog and back blade. It had 50 hours on it and ag tires. very clean machine.

I bought it for $9,000.

When I brought it home I invested in a Woods loader for it 5' bucket. I think it was about $2,000 for the loader installed. I got a discount on it because it was a leftover and had sat for a year. Nothing wrong with it but a little paint fade.

Bought some cast wheel weights for the rear.

Then I traded in the 5' blade on a 6'.

I have 5 acres that I mow with the hog. It does well in tall grass. The taller it is you have to slow down and take your time.

Overall I love the machine. It does what I need it to and in a pretty timely fashion. It is certainly a no frills machine but it is also less expensive that those with more bells and whistles. Quality is still A-1. Easy to maintain.

Some thing that are nice about newer or different machines are. Wider seat area, a few more horses would be nice, a bit more of a wider track would help with stability on hills, HST.

But if your like me I had a budget and this fit nicely. Mail me if you have any questions.
