I have a L2501HST with the BH77 backhoe, which has a permanently mounted subframe on the tractor. I was all set to order Kubota factory rear remotes (1 regular, one float detent) and the Kubota Top-N-Tilt kit for this tractor, when I saw a note on my original sales invoice that the BH77 is not compatible with Top-n-tilt kits. Does anyone know what this is referring to? Obviously the 3-point arms have to be removed to attach the backhoe, but I am trying to figure out if there is some other mechanical interference issue with the subframe.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has firsthand knowledge of this rig. Dealer appears to be stumped.
Perhaps the diameter of the tilt cylinder coupled with the location of the subframe prevents the draft links from being wide enough to meet the Cat I standard.
That is my best guess. I see no reason why a hydraulic top link would pose any concerns.
I am certain there are hose extensions and a different mount bracket required for the remote valve couplers on an L2501 when equipped with a BH77.
There’s no reason you can’t have a hydraulic top link installed, a hydraulic side link should clear just fine as well with the bh77 sub frame. The issue is that they are sold as kits and they kits contain pre made hydraulic hoses which are not compatible between kits. It’s the same scenario with having a loader backhoe and trying to get a third function valve installed. It can be done but requires custom length hoses. At the end of the day you can link as many valves together in sequence as necessary as long as the fluid continues through the circuit back to tank. If your dealer has tractor mechanics worth their weight they should have zero problem getting the top and tilt setup to work, of course that’s as long as the tilt cylinder clears the sub frame. Worst case a leveling box for the tilt is the next best option.
