You might wanna practice steering with the left/right brake pedals before you try it - I've seen some discrepancies in what is CLAIMED and what REALLY happens on both of my tractors - the Long is spec'd at 2660 lbs
TractorData.com Long 46 tractor information
and i've had it come up on me a LOT with my 1100 lb. Gannon box on the back - I ended up using my Allis 160 for the Gannon; it would ALSO come up on me pretty easy, but I have 600# of weights that fit the Allis and haven't fabbed a weight rack for the Long (didn't have one, DOES have 4 5/8" SAE threaded holes in front, eventually WILL have a combo weight rack and hydraulic front hitch eventually) (MUCH better for moving trailers, etc, around)
From what I've seen on tractordata.com, it looks like any numbers you read there for rear lift MIGHT assume you have the maximum # of front weights the tractor can hold (or a FEL with a bucketful of gravel

)
Neither of my tractors has a FEL, if yours does it'll probably be OK - keep in mind though, that STATIC loads aren't nearly as destructive on gear as being maxxed out and hitting a pothole @ ANY speed... Steve
