L3010 quits running

I'm submitting this post for someone else. They are working on a L3010 HST with about 500 hours. After 15 to 20 mins of mowing the tractor slowly dies to a idle and then quits. Let it set, maybe cooling down, and the tractor starts up and runs another few mins. Air filter has been checked. Fuel filter replaced, fuel pump replaced. Fuel lines been checked for any restrictions. When the tractor dies, the fuel filter is still full and there is fuel to the injection pump. Now here is the wierd part. While taking a water hose and cleaning off the fuel pump, and injection pump area the tractor stays running. He found if you keep the cold water spraying on the injection pump the tractor will keep running. Take it away and let it get warm the tractor will slowly start to die and finally quit. Any ideas that I could pass along to him? Hard to believe it needs a pump at only 500 hours. Any help is appreciated.

Check all fuel fittings for leaks…
Is he getting any fuel in the engine oil? … Is there any chance someone in the past put gasoline through the system? That will use a pump up quick… Have him remove the pump (rather easy) and the injectors, have all tested.

Bingo!! The employees of the owner had filled up his diesel cans with gasoline. The owner then filled his tractor up. Thank you very much for your help. I passed on your info about checking for gasoline and after some investigation found out that is what was wrong. Thanks again!!
