I am out of ideas and desparately need some help. The chain on the front hydraulic pump went and I pulled off the hood and battery tray to replace it and it worked fine and the tractor started right up. The next time I went to start the tractor, it wouldn't crank. The oil pressure and battery charging lights didn't even come on when I turned the Main Switch to the on position. After repeated attemtps, sometimes, when I turn the key, I get the lights to come on, but then if I turn the starter key, they go out. I pulled off the starter and connected power to it directly. The solenoid pushes out, but it doesn't spin. Is the starter shot? Even with the shart completely disconnected, I get the no lights condition and when I check for voltage through the starter circuit, I don't 12V. Every now and then the lights will come on and then I get 12V across with clutch pressed and starter switch held in on position. Separately, there is a windshield wiper that is connected directly to the positive terminal of the starter coming from the battery. Seems to me that this should run all the time when switch is on, but when I have a no light condition it won't run either. The whole problem seems intermittent and I don't know what component would make it act this way. Any ideas? The wiring diagram seems straightforward, but I am at a loss.
Thanks.
Thanks.
