I believe the OPC is the source of my random engine shutdown. There are four leads red, black, yellow and red/white. Can anyone shed light on which are the input wires and which are the output?

The OPC timer relay was indeed the problem. I replaced it this A.M. and all seems fine for now. I only wish that I had some way to bench test individual components and this whole process would have consumed less time and fewer $$.

Could you please provide the part number of the part you changed.

I ask because after looking at the WSM, your model tractor seems to be much more computer controlled than say the L3010 where the relay for the engine stop solenoid has a timer function and I am wondering on your L3130 if the relay is just a simple one and the timing function if being done by the 8 bit CPU in the intelli Panel

Glad you got it fixed. Per the WSM, page 9-S38:

"Checking OPC Timer
1. Remove the timer. (OPC timer is located behind the panel)
2. Connect jumper leads across the battery positive terminal and
the timer 3 terminal, and across the battery positive terminal and
the timer 4 terminal.
3. Connect jumper leads across the battery negative terminal and
the timer 2 terminal, and across the battery negative terminal and
the bulb terminal.
4. Connect jumper lead across the timer 1 terminal and the bulb
terminal.
5. The bulb lights up when disconnecting a jumper lead from the 3
terminal 0.7 to 1.3 seconds late, the timer is proper.

(2) Load (Lamp)
(3) Battery (12 V)

Looking at the OPC Timer Relay with the connector lock on the bottom, the relay terminals are as follows:

4 3
