I am borrowing my father in laws tractor and I have to push clutch in when I move from forward to N to reverse and back. My mom's M7040 does not need clutch in, just shift and go! Is it supposed to work this way? It is a manual transmission fyi.

I tried Googling an adjustment but thought I would just ask here first. Thanks!

Yes, you need to use the clutch to forward/reverse.
Its a shuttle shift, not a power reverser or Glide shift
