I moved my thread to the Kubota forum now that I think I've settled on Kubota. I had an L2800 that was stolen. I need to replace it, but want something with more FEL and 3pt lifing capacity.

I've looked at the L3240. Definitely a step up from the L2800. But it has about the same PTO hp and only 34 total hp. But with the 724 loader, it has both stronger FEL and 3pt lift than the slightly higher priced L4400.

I haven't priced the L3540, so I'm not sure how much more that would be.

Any thoughts on the L3240 vs L4400?

Thanks.

Bummer about your 2800. :(

I went with the 3240. I couldn't see enough difference between it and the 3540 and the price was about $1800 less. Next step would have been the 3940.

I'm verrrrrry! Happy with the 3240, mine is the HST+ which is awesome! I also have the L724 loader because my last tractor was just too under powdered it that area (Ford 1520).

I bet you'll be very pleased with any of the Grand L series.

The Grand L's are much nicer than the standard L models! What are you planning to do with it? If the L2800 did nearly all you needed, the L3240 is the way to go.

I am enjoying my L3240HST, at times I almost wish I would have gone with the 3940. Never go small because you'll always want bigger once you get it:D

I have the 3240 cab and can say I'm very happy with it. I had the 3430 cab but can say with out a doubt the new 40 series tractors are much better because of the hst plus. If you are doing loader work you will love the hst plus features. The 724 loader has plenty of lifting force and is very quick. Go for it, you will not regret it one bit!

I just ordered a L3240 with the L724 loader on Saturday. I started out intending on buying a L3400 but through research on this site I ended up with a Grand L.

Have you test drove a Grand L? Just play with the response control and you get a feel for how much control you have of this beast, never mind the dual speed, load sensing, auto throttle advance etc.

For those of you who have Grand Ls, do you use these features much and if so, which is the most useful to you? The most fun?

I virtually leave it on mode three with the auto throttle on unless I'm cutting. Having is like this has the dual speed like an automatic tranny on a car, all I do is press the pedal. I don't have to worry about stalling the motor either.

The auto throttle can be adjusted to give more or less rpms before movement. I plan on doing this soon as I feel it's reving a bit more than I'd like before moving. The good thing with that is for FEL work I can feather the pedal and move the loader faster w/o moving the tractor much if any.

All that being said, I have yet ot really play with the response control. Most of the time if I put the pedal to the floor I wanna move fast, if I want to move slow I feather the pedal anyway. But I think it'll come in handy once I start the lawn.
