L3400 3 pt hitch--Again

Purchased an L3400, SN 60794, on 12-6-05 but it only has 50 hours. Obviously a lite user but, like everyone else, not happy with the stuttering 3 pt hitch pump. One of my local Kubota dealers, Goss in Jasper, GA, tells me the fix is a Kubota replacement pump, part # 31351-39604, which was installed on new Kubotas after SN 6173. He would be delighted to replace my pump for the unbelievable low price of about $900. Before I shell out that kind of dough, thought I'd check with y'all to see if anyone has had any experience with the "new" pump and, perhaps more importantly, does it work. The dealer where I bought the tractor, Mason, Blue Ridge, GA just says that my pump has a yellow dot on it and that means it's the best one can get. Appreciate any feedback. Stay warm.

I am not sure, but I was thinking the problem had more to do with the hydraulic control... KennyV

I never heard of an update replacing the pump. The problem is in the 3 pt. control valve. If you search there is plenty of information this and the new part really helps with the control of the 3 pt. Brian

Make life simple, trade it in for for a newer tractor, if Kubota dealer does'nt make a good offer.
GO A "DIFFERENT COLOR" It is the 3pt Valve.

This issue has been a PITA in the past and Kubota has tried to deny it. IT DID/DOES EXIST!

Mine is an 09 and still has minor issues with the 3ph smoothness. Save your money , at least in my opinion. Mine is quite livable unless it's unloaded, and then it really isn't an issue anyway.

As far as trading for another tractor, I think that's a bit rash

Check the hydraulic suction hose on the back of your existing pump, chances are it has a few cracks in it, which can draw in air and cause poor hydraulic action. It's pretty common on older (and newer) 2800/3400 tractors.

There's a thread or eight here on the suction hose.
