I'm deciding on either a L3400hst or B3030 with BH75 for escavation and landscaping. I'm leaning towards the L3400 due to it's additional weight, loader lift height, and HP. It will be used with a box scrapper , blade, rake and bush hog as well. Any experience/recommendations on either of these configurations would be appreciated. Thx!

I have a B3030, well it will do what you want it to do, I think the L3400 will be better for you because of the weight. If you where mowing on a lawn and tight spaces where more important, then the B3030 would be the one to get. Yiou will probly see the biggest improvement in the FEL with the L3400.
The 3030 ok with the FEL but you have to work at it with gravel. I would say the hoe on a 3030 or 3400 would be no diference. the 3030 is more than enough to run the hioe.
Hope this helps

I was thinking the same about the weight. I live in southern AZ and the soil here is very hard and rocky -- so believe the additional weight and HP would help. Thanks for your response!

My B3030 is perfect for what I use it for, but I'd definitely lean toward the L3400 for the kind of work you have in mind.

If your talking YOUR landscaping etc...personally Id go with the B3030 setup...BUT...if your talking a BUSINESS sort of thing..Id have to go with the B3400 ..mainly because of its weight and the heavier FEL..etc..

I "kinda" look at my B3030 as the EXTRA SUper HD BX model(s). even though its a "B" model. Im been pushing over dead trees all morning in the woods ( 4 hrs now..break time... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif..) running thru super soft woods "gumbo" dragging them out..rear axle deep! A BX model "might" have enough HP to drag them...but wouldnt have the *** to push them over..let alone run in that deep of "goo".

The B3430 is just a much heavier built tractor....but not really one Id wish to mow my "lawn" with though!

The main strenght that the B3030 has over the L3400 is lack of weight.

That strength is probably going to be a weakness for your application.

I would go with the L3400 (I actually already have :) - decided to get a riding mower for the lawn mowing).

That's true. Most of our yards here are rock -- other, than brush clean-up I don't have a need for mowing. Thx for your reply!
